"Begin Again" is a unique 16-year-old Ledaig single malt, finished in a Foursquare rum cask. This 2005 vintage bottling marries the coastal, rubbery peat of Mull with the spicy, tropical sweetness of Barbados.

Reracked into a Barbados rum barrel from Foursquare Distillery on 10 November 2021 and finished there for an additional 8 months.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Distinctive Ledaig notes of rubber and industrial smoke are softened by aromas of vanilla and tropical fruit. A touch of maritime brine and sweet malt creates an intriguing bouquet.

Palate: The palate is oily and well-integrated, featuring a blend of smoky bacon and sweet molasses. The rum cask influence brings notes of ginger and brown sugar to the earthy peated base.

Finish: Long and evolving, with the smoke turning ashy and the rum influence providing a lingering spicy sweetness. A truly innovative and balanced dram with a saline final touch.

The artwork was deliberately chosen for its layered meaning:

Begin Again — a rebirth, a renewal. As we close Year 2 and the Curated Range, we prepare to begin anew with fresh casks for Year 3.

The initial Ledaig sample was sharp and overwhelming. To soften and balance it, we reracked into a Foursquare 2007 Barbados rum barrel—literally a rebirth and renewal of the spirit in tropical rum cask influence.
