CHARACTER
A Clynelish that feels like coming in from the rain: cookie crumbs, honey lemon tea, candle wax. The famous texture does the real work — that oily, waxy coat that turns a simple hot toddy into something collectors chase. Raspberry and green apple keep it lively; manuka and melted butter keep it generous.
Easy to love, hard to forget. The kind of Highland malt that makes new drinkers understand why Clynelish has a cult.
TASTING NOTES
Nose
Warm and homely at first: white choc-chip cookie crumbs, vanilla, toffee and baked butter, dusted with icing sugar and powdered cinnamon. A glass of honey lemon tea sits beside it. Give it a minute and the Clynelish wax arrives — beeswax, lemon putty — turning the bakery scene into something silkier and more coastal.
Palate
Honey, lemon, vanilla and cinnamon, licked straight off a candle. A waxy hot toddy follows: burnt toffee, flashes of raspberry and green apple, a digestive-biscuit backbone and a quiet thread of chamomile tea. Oily, coating, and unmistakably Clynelish — comfort with a polished edge.
Finish
Cinnamon steps forward with black pepper and silky tannins, then settles into manuka honey and melted butter. Long, waxed, and quietly spicy. The last impression is warm toast and lemon oil.
