Details
Ardmore Distillery (from the Gaelic Àird Mhòr, meaning "Great Height" or "Big Headland") was founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher in Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire, Scottish Highlands. Adam was co-owner of William Teacher & Sons Ltd, a family business started by his father, William Teacher, who opened his first dram shop in 1856 and grew it into a chain of over 18 locations. After William's death in 1876, his sons Adam and William Jr. expanded the legacy, launching Teacher's Highland Cream Blended Scotch Whisky in 1884.
Ardmore was created specifically to ensure a reliable supply of malt whisky for the family's blends. This lightly peated Highland single malt continues to be a core ingredient in Teacher's Blended Scotch Whiskies today.

TASTING NOTES
Nose: Delicate wood smoke and forest floor notes are intertwined with heather honey and floral malt. A light orchard fruit sweetness of poached pears provides a pleasant aromatic contrast.
Palate: Silky and medium-bodied, the palate moves from sweet malt and vanilla cream to a gentle, dry Highland peat smoke. Subtle notes of gingerbread and lemon curd add depth to the progression.
Finish: Medium length, finishing with a soft wisp of ash and a touch of sweet oak. It leaves a clean, slightly medicinal and honeyed aftertaste that is exceptionally well-balanced.
