CHARACTER
A Long Pond that smells like a workshop and a kopitiam at the same time: machine oil, oak polish, fried bananas. The puma line is earned — real power, no scramble, just that high-ester roll of lime, coconut and rust.
The cigar-room finish is where Jamaica gets dressed for Singapore. Funk with furniture polish. Serious collector rum that still feels like a night out.
TASTING NOTES
Nose
Machine oil and day-old banana skins on a freshly polished oak chair, with brown sugar and dried coconut. From the next room: Thai-style fried bananas, hot oil and caramelised fruit. Industrial and tropical in the same breath — classic Long Pond, already pacing the cage.
Palate
Power and restraint, a puma crouched and ready to pounce. The high ABV rolls across the tongue rather than biting it: lime zest, brown sugar, ripe banana, coconut, then those tantalising flashes of engine oil and rust. Vanilla and clove take over and walk it toward the finish.
Finish
Long and warming. More brown sugar, more engine grease, and the air of a cigar room — old books, polished wood, a little smoke in the curtains. The banana fades last. You want the next sip before this one has gone.
